CEENJ 2019 Bratislava – Call for Papers

The 2019 CEENJ (Central and Eastern European Network of Jurisprudence) Conference is to take place at the premises of the Comenius University in Bratislava (Slovak Republic), Faculty of Law (https://www.flaw.uniba.sk/en/), on September 12 and 13, 2019.

Contributions to the whole gamut of jurisprudential issues, from legal philosophy and analytical legal theory to so cial theories of law, are welcome. Dogmatic (doctrinal) and empirical (historical, sociological, economic, etc.) studies of law with a strong conceptual content are also acceptable. The 2019 CEENJ Conference will also be open to participants working and/or residing outside the Adriatic-Baltic-Black Sea area.

Conference applications must be submitted by e-mail to two members of the organizing committee, Nikolas Sabjan, (nikolas.sabjan@flaw.uniba.sk) and Olexij M. Metenkanyc (olexij.metenkanyc@flaw.uniba.sk). In addition to the applicant’s name, affiliation and e-mail address, a valid application includes a summary of the intended presentation comprising 3,600 characters with spaces.

The application deadline: 1 June 2019.

The schedule can accommodate 32 participants. Active Bratislava CEENJ Conference participants will be selected on the basis of their applications by the CEENJ International Advisory Board which at present includes: Matthias Klatt (Graz), Damir Banović (Sarajevo), Ivana Tucak (Osijek), Jolanta Bieliauskaitė (Vilnius), Jasminka Hasanbegović (Belgrade), Tatiana Machalova (Brno), Ivan Padjen (Rijeka/Zagreb), Marijan Pavčnik (Ljubljana), Janis Pleps (Riga), Bartosz Wojciechowski (Lodz), Luka Burazin and Mario Krešić (both from Zagreb), and the convenor of the Bratislava 2019 CEENJ Conference, Tomáš Gábriš (Bratislava).

Conference participants are to cover all their travel and accommodation expenses. The Faculty of Law of the Comenius University in Bratislava will provide all participants with lunch and dinner on Thursday and Friday, 12 and 13  September 2019.

Dean’s Award 2018/2019

 

Svan Relac earned the Dean’s Award 2018/2019 for presenting the paper “Argumentum a contrario and implicatures in law“ at the 13th annual conference of the Central and Eastern European Network of Jurisprudence, held at the Zagreb Faculty of Law, September 13-14,  2018.
