CfP: CEENJ 2023 Padova

The 2023 CEENJ (Central and Eastern European Network of Jurisprudence) Conference is to take place at the premises of the University of Padova (Italy), School of Law, Department of Private law and Critique of Law; on September 21 and 22, 2023

CEENJ was founded in 2005. Previous conferences of CEENJ were held in Pécs (Hungary), Osijek (Croatia), Graz (Austria), Rijeka (Croatia), Maribor (Slovenia), Belgrade (Serbia), Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Skopje and Ohrid (Macedonia), Łódź (Poland), Brno (Czech Republic), Vilnius (Lithuania), Riga (Latvia), Zagreb (Croatia), Bratislava (Slovakia), Warsaw (Poland).

The topic of the the 2023 CEENJ conference – as in previous editions – is very broad: “Jurisprudence in Central and Eastern Europe: Work in Progress 2022”. The deadline for submitting papers is 10 July 2023.

Conference applications should be submitted by e-mail to Claudio Sarra (claudio.sarra@unipd.it). In addition to the applicant’s name, affiliation and e-mail address, a valid application should include a summary of the intended presentation comprising 3,600 characters with spaces. The oral presentation at a CEENJ conference is to be accompanied by a projection of the full text or a power point of the presentation. 

Contributions to the whole gamut of jurisprudential issues, from legal philosophy and analytical legal theory to social theories of law, are welcome. Dogmatic (doctrinal) and empirical (historical, sociological, economic, etc.) studies of law with a strong conceptual content are also acceptable. The 2023 CEENJ Conference will also be open to participants working and/or residing outside the Adriatic-Baltic-Black Sea area.

There is no conference fee. The schedule can accommodate up to 32 participants. Conference participants are to cover all their travel and accommodation expenses. The host organisation will provide all participants with lunch and dinner on 26 and 27 September 2020.
